Tesla to remote patch 2M vehicles after damning Autopilot safety probe

dotdot

Total recall ?

Did i see 100% in the article ?

That's quite a large percentage.

Still , I think the feature should at the very least include a nod to the top <variable> in the room in this one.

Not Elo n

Darwin

Yes , the option should be named the DARWIN option or button if you will.

Now the next time you hear the words Elo and Autopilot together you can imagine a little cloud including DARWIN floating above both.

You know it makes (more) sense.

You're alone in a room with the Windows 10 out-of-the-box apps. What do you do?

dotdot

easy

Throw the machine at the window.. you'll have a window as everyone who uses windows needs a window to dream of what could have been.

Jump out of the window... height doesn't matter , this is not real life.

freedom.

HDS and Verizon pair up to take on Rackspace, Amazon in the clouds

dotdot

still it's an interesting partnership

see how it goes.

Verizon ? that'll be US based , right ?

Will they be investigating the same (type of) initiative in the UK ? you'd have thought so.

What about the others Chris... care to elab on those, for context ? EMC / IBM / HP .. et all.

ELreg always needs a bit of context , saves the stories looking too much like press releases without the names of the spokesperson(s).

Oh no, RBS has gone titsup again... but is it JUST BAD LUCK?

Cost versus benefit

I hear the statement above re IT being a cost.

Whilst its an interesting point , it's also a point worth referring to when you think about old IT and new / newer IT infra.

Many are moving to a... use my kit , pay me money ..model , ie a charge based model.

In which case IT for some is becoming a part of the charge base , if you make Money we all make money and not the poor relation of old.

Worth noting , when anyone talks about IT and old kit... In future .. If its old its probably costing you a fair wedge (remember support costs on old kit , people) if that wedge is a cost , then your "wheels" and support within the org is poor, you're onto a loser and as ,quite rightly, the storage bod points out , it's only a matter of time.. Before those "wheels" come adrift .

IT MELTDOWN ruins Cyber Monday for RBS, Natwest customers

Failed sla ...

A 3 hr non scheduled outage , takes rbs into failed SLA country , which will result in a full explanation to the FSA.

The previous breach would have resulted in a similar report. (What a mess that was)

This time the same excuse or failure will not be thought of as a 'moving forward' situation.

Mindful of the steps detailed earlier , whilst generally they are correct , the issue here may focus on time to determine issue then fix , of a sufficiently detailed nature.

Outsource or no outsource , I have no doubt the root cause is known to RBS already.

CUT to the CHASE - leave "ubu" join MINT

take a few mins on this one..

It always helps to go away then come back to something if it irritates you.

UBUNTU - .. well i ,like a few folks, here started using it back at breezy.. which is a while ago.

I hung on for a long time - it went well, it was actually going great.

Then unity came along and the show was somewhat derailed.

Perhaps other terms could be using instead of derailed , you get the jist - the train came off the tracks.. people .. like me fell off the wagon - and thought "no !! ffs no !" - that is not going to sit in my stomach for a long time.

I wandered off to mint - and thought , and to be brutal still do , think - "hey this is simple ! does the job and does it rather well!"

Will I come back to this ? .. perhaps i will - there are still some things i'd like to do with my os / skin - which LM doesn't do by def - will ubu 13.10 then ? - not sure !

I'll fire up a UBU 13.10 VM and perhaps report back - for now .. it still "looks" like a bad place of glitz and junk , put simple

when all is said and done it's all down to one thing ...."due diligence" , and whether or not in this case it was..

outsourced.

hp - are well known and versed in the art of aquisition if they had problems then they techincally only have themselves to blame.

As for mike lynch - well his name is now damaged .. potentially beyond recog - which tends to make him uk VC angel for the foreseeable - that is if he believes in the uk , which i think he does.

Still , it's an interesting story.

Want the latest Android version? Good luck with that

dotdot

update to .. what .. for what ?

does what it says on the tin ?

I think not. (just you test it for a while and see how much of it is still in dev..)

not known for understating anything or .. for that matter stating very much to be precise.

google yet again fluffs along thinking people will just go with the flow.

"get a grip...!" you've blown it with android. Failing to give the hw vendors os' to test when you said you would.

Now you think they'll continue to drink that kool aid... again.(well they have no choice.. and that will sadly trickle down do the public again...)

in a few years time this will be looked on as..

"a lesson on how not to release os updates with no plan and no roadmap to speak of.. whilst trying to entice apps and hw folks to jump your ship.. not knowing what was exactly powering the ship."

hey that's the way of the smartphone.notapple.alt world... anything but apple looks decidedly thoughtless..

dotdot

is it ready?

I'd probably think not.

Camera .. i'd suggest junk

The os .. i'd suggest still not ready. (it was flake city with N7MK1)

google... aren't really interested in doing this platform - properly.

(I had a transformer.. it was ok.. got rid - patches kept trashing apps which used to work).

i bought a nexus 7 mk1 ... got rid after a couple of months it was junk.

as for "where are we going KITKAT ?" ... ffs - A LOT OF people BOYCOTT nestle...
