SCO vs. IBM case over who owns Linux comes back to life. Again

Kroneous

Here SCO comes again, "Hey, hey, we're the Monkees..... And people say we monkey around

But we're too busy... suing..... to ever stop Monkeying around" and so if TSG is for the Team of Lawyers who promised they'd take this case to Jupiter and Beyond.... before they'd drop it.

What's really ironically is the fact if they somehow pull off this IBM AIX Lawsuit is that they could end up with enough money on the side to go after every UNIX out there today. If that happens.... you'll see Google, Apple, Redhat, Oracle, etc all running for the hills to keep from being called a UNIX OS! .....it'll be hilarious to see..... especially companies like Apple claiming OSX or iOS are not a UNIX then!!! :D

Samsung turns off lights on LEDs worldwide – except in South Korea

This Writer is Whacked! lol....

I mean really.... who does he think is getting all the electric car maker contracts right now? GMC, BMW, Tesla.... and that's just some of the cars. Samsung SDI's LiPo, LithiumAir and now they're killing it with Li S battery technology R&D. They just bought the Battery Division of the Company set to make Apple's electric iKiddy Car! lol....

Samsung Techwin is one of the most successful divisions in that 80+ companies! lol.... and they will most definitely break $500 Billion in Revenue in Samsung Group alone. That's without a whole slew of Joint Ventures. Like the one with Royal Dutch Shell building the Prelude FLNG Project in one deal worth $55 Billion. Which you probably never of heard of. haha.... just because there's nothing about Apple connected with it.

Just admit you're an Appleholic Samsung Haters Anonymous member and you go for any negative FUD or Misinformation about Samsung you possibly can when dealing with such a massive array of iPWNERSHIP in a Family owned Group of Companies held privately. Which since you're such a jughead, means they can never be considered as having the Delusional Market Cap Value, you iDiots cream in your jeans over!!! :D

News for you; Market Cap is only really important to morons who think the iTrinket maker invented everything Way Before the Dawn of Time! hahaha.... iPhones.... is that all they got???? lol... Samsung has oil, gas, construction, ships, home appliances, fashion, fabrics, plastics, semiconductor processors, memory, cameras and mine all their own materials, besides owning the Gold and Silver in Sierra Leone Mines, that Apple will probably be forced to buy along with their best 14nm FinFet Fab plants making their chips, memory and screens. Samsung is still #1 Electronics Conglomerate in the World! lol...

As to LEDs? Are you getting? You can get 7w LED bulbs for $2.50 in China right now on ebay. They do however own some serious Patent IP in IoT technology for specialty LED lighting. Besides making nearly all the lasers in Optical disk players, military use, etc. They supply them and other retailers rebrand and sell! They HUGE in Global R&D and their own Marketing Budget alone is more than most companies. Which majority of it they pay themselves haha.... via Samsung Worldwide!!! ;-P Dream on fool.... but you can't touch Samsung with a 10 foot pole on just the strength of their Global Diversity. Medical? ahahaha.... They own a Top 10 Cancer Research and Treatment Center and Medison invented 3D/4D Ultrasound. Don't make me laugh..... their pharma is new and it's growing, not stagnant 3 quarters of the year like Cr Apple w/ only one good quarter of selling iTrinkets only at launch! :DDD

Home-grown Xiaomi crushes Samsung in world's biggest market

Kroneous

Dude.... they're not stealing it, Western Corporations are giving it to them. Plus can you really own something, when they are concepts and have no physical properties? And Software Patents and Copyrights are totally different than Trade Secrets or Ideas in the first place. Many people the World over can have the exact same idea at the virtually the exact same moment. Who really owns it then?

Method software patents are the worse. You mean to say..... you think people should have the right to patent a way of tying shoes? Because that's exactly what a Method Patent is. "The left lace is first crossed over the right lace. Next passed under the other lace and drawn tight. Make a bow w/ the left side.... etc.....". Come on.... they let's see you enforce that patent and keep everyone from tying their shoes that way!

It's ridiculous to even think we can enforce all the real patents, let alone bogus ones or stolen ones, like Apple stole slide to unlock from Neonode N1m!

Samsung sticks with child labour shame fab: Zero-tolerance means 30% less trade

Kroneous

Apparently you don't understand that with a population of nearly 2 Billion people, people often pass through the cracks and many are undocumented than we think. Look how many undocumented people live in America? It's in the Millions there and they only have around 300 Million to worry about. There are parts of China where they never see any government officials. Where women still deliver babies while working in rice fields. It's true and yet in Westerner's ignorance we allow atrocities to take place all around the World, thinking nobody anywhere is struggling just to survive. How about those remote Amazonian tribe being pushed out of their homelands over illegal logging? What is anybody doing about that?

http://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/aug/01/amazon-tribe-makes-first-contact-with-outside-world

Maybe this child labor watch group should go down there and make a big deal about those parents putting their kids to work at too early of an age just to survive? Intrude on their way of life even more than we are. Make sure they all get their government ID's and Welfare with McDonalds Hamburgers. Along with Hawaiian Shirts and gangster rap hats and music too! .....and for God's sake force the women wear bras for sure. So when we teach them lap and pole dancing they aren't getting each other's cooties on each other! ;-P ......you know, so then we can send in the Christian Missionaries to Save their Souls! btw.... what we're doing in China really isn't any better and that's the real travesty and injustice here!!!

Kroneous

Yeah..... the truth comes as a surprise to some people, but the reality is that the Chinese are still using a centuries old tradition of class warfare (not unlike America). Keep workers of families at the lowest rung barely able to survive, so those higher up can feel somewhat better than those under them on up to the lower middle class, middle class, elite class, so all the upper elitists (upper crust Bourgeois class) can hoard all the money and power for themselves and feel they're better than everyone else! The Few Elitists vs the Many Slaves!!!

It's feudal state at it's finest. So now what do these poor peasant families do about having one less wage earner, knocking them further down the rungs of poverty? These so called do gooders are actually doing them more harm than having these kids working. Let 'em work, just make sure conditions are better. We can go around dictating society norms to people who've survived the worst horrors of enslavement all for Westerners enjoying CHEAPER PRODUCTS at their expense!!!

Kroneous

Do any of you fools ever bother to read these deluded mistitled ignorant stories the infamous Register Tabloid puts up to get hits? Nah..... why bother. When all you really want to do is HATE on the #1 Smartphone maker, let alone the Top Global Conglomerate in the World... Samsung!

Get real, open your eyes and read past the bogus headlines always on the Register. Which is nothing more than a con job "COME ON" to get you to read their bogus twist on the TRUTH!

Reality here is that Samsung has decided not to quit this subcontractor all together (cut by 30%). Because they found out that it was one of this subcontractor's subcontractors that had hired the underage workers in the first place. It's a he said... she said scam by this so called child protection charity to make Samsung look bad. But all you iCrAppleholic fools are out just like Apple for the same thing. To make Samsung look bad to save your own face. So you can all puff up your Elitist chest, claiming "See.... Samsung hires underage workers too"! haha...... yeah right. They hired a subcontractor (not even a contractor directly, like Apple does with Foxconn) that hired a subcontractor, who had hired the kids in the first place! Engage your brain and think about that for more than the few seconds you fools use it a day!!!

When now we come to find out the truth, only by reading past the HEADLINE, deeper into this perverted ignorant hater story. Samsung will now still be using this company, but by far less. Even though the company (subcontractor) that originally was accused of using child labor as Samsung's Subcontractor didn't hire the kids in the first place. A subcontractor of the subcontractor was the one that had hired the kids and that original subcontractor has since killed doing business with said subcontractor (temp labor agency), they had hired to find workers. Most likely Apple back door funded that subcontractor's subcontractor to make Samsung look bad for iDiot fans like you. So you all can feel better about a company that is the king of enslaving kids working at Apple's Totally Outsourced Good Buddies at Foxconn Children's Prison Camp. The aka.... Taiwanese Hon Hai. Owned by the notorious Big Mouthed Billionaire Terry Gou. Who thinks all his Chinese workers are "dogs and animals", like Apple does!

"Hon Hai has a workforce of over one million worldwide, and as human beings are also animals, to manage one million animals gives me a headache". Terry Gou is more Arrogant than even Apple is!!!

Apple won't bag HUMUNGOUS 4G deal... 'cos China HATES plastic iPhone 5C – analyst

Re: plastic

Kudos for bringing Sir Joni's responsibility for the plastic cover up of iPhone 5c to our attention. People forget he's the one that called that shot and since he supposedly hates plastic, coming out and claiming to have reinvented it really makes him look dysfunctional as a design engineer. Let alone him at first taking the credit for iOS 7's look n feel, until it got the Lisa Frank Design for teen girls tag applied to it. Notice he immediately had Apple move that blame to the real 22yr old designer responsible for it! lol.....

As for "Plastic" as some kind of bad word describing anything made with man made materials other than metal as cheap and junky is just plain wrong. Some forms of aluminum are cheaper and it's made from one of the most plentiful metals on the planet. There are forms of Plastic that cost many times more and Apple has no Plastic R&D spending to account for Apple's claim of "Plastic Reinvented".

The truth is that there is only one Electronics Giant in this World and that's Samsung. They use Plastic.... mainly because they own a 60yr old Plastics company in Cheil Chemical. Which supplies the majority of plastics used in many other products including Luxury Automobiles that aren't exactly CHEAP!

The same Infino Brand PC (polycarbonate) that goes into the resins that make up most carbon fiber products are also used in the Galaxy Note 3's more Leather Look n Feel back cover, than the CHEAP PU vinyl plastic Apple uses in it's $80 iPhone Covers!

In fact Samsung supplies their Infino Brand PC that went into making the Bugatti Veyron's transparent removable roof. Which isn't exactly Cheap either! .....in fact I don't think cheap die cast aluminum (sort of metal only) would be called that great of quality in that use or even serve the design purpose well. That's why I call "Rubbish" on the claim all metals are better quality than all "Plastics" for all purposes. They're just plain not even close. The presumption that just because Apple was using aircraft aluminum in making some parts of iDevices has now shot itself in it's own foot. So they simply can't change the image of Plastic when they don't even spend the R&D money to develop it better like SAMSUNG does!

Now that the shoe is on the other foot, consumers are kicking Apple's teeth in with this rank amateur ploy of trying to make their Plastic better in the face of the FUD and Misinformation they've pumped out to kill the competition for using it. Apple? It ain't working! :DDD ......especially in China!

But..... Plastic used to serve a purpose other than to somehow cheapen up a device so you can continue to charge more for supposed higher quality iPhone 5s was wrong from the start. Samsung uses plastic not because it's cheaper (which apparently it's not), but because their Plastic is far more durable, flexible, flame resistant, break resistant, colorable or transparent, scratch resistant, protective of internals, designed to specifically address the needs of consumers, replaceable, removable and doesn't dent, ding or break the more important hardware inside. Metal being better is an illusion and otherwise it's far inferior in serving designed for looks instead of designed to use like Samsung Products!

Deluded Appleholics Don't Get It!

We're talking about a market and a carrier that don't really care about one phone brand, when they have literally 100's of phone brands for sale in their own store. One brand.... Samsung with 22% China market share, has been growing even though they are a foreign company. HTC is also growing market share in China and have recently been taking greater market share than Apple yr over yr.

Whereas Apple's share has actually shrunk over the last year and they are for all intents and purposes going through stagnating market share in about all markets Worldwide. I don't call around 5% market share in China for the year to date that great. Now they've only pushed that up to a possible 7% on the year by one banner quarter (December). That ain't exactly earth shattering growth!

Especially when in all reality you must take into account they were..... above 10% last year in China Market Share. The real wrench in the works for Apple in China, has to do with the fact China Mobile refuses to subsidise phone brands off their customer's backs. But they offer the best coverage, best rates and now the Fastest connections of any carrier in China. In a market that primarily goes for Cash n Carry plus Pre-paid plans, you can't expect them to change much just because they may be offering iPhones on Contract in their store.

Because the Chines people don't want to be conned into paying more for services just to get a more expensive phone.... CHEAPER! hahaha..... They know contracts are like Fingerhut or every Apple inspired Infomercial hawking the fantasy of getting something for nothing with timed payments. Chinese aren't as dumb as every other consumer addicted to Apple's Chairman Mao Suit Cloned iPhones for the Masses! ........"hey I got an iPhone and you don't hahaha....", and the that person answers laughing, "yeah.... but iDiots all look the same and I can't tell you apart for who is the Greatest Deluded Appleholic Fool!!!" ;-P

CHRISTMAS MIRACLE! Dell's Android PC on a stick to ship with Santa

Re: Same shit new wrapping?

This writer did a lousy job of explaining what Michael Dell..... one of the most successful StartUp entrepreneurs in the World... is doing after buying Wyse. Michael Dell didn't buy back his company to go play tiddly winks or Angry Birds on Android sticks! lol..... the dude has a plan with Wyse. Where he can basically put a crimp on every computing device makers sales and profits for $100 a pop. But still in time make even more money off enterprise and any other customer's monthly secure tunnel network fees and Apps sold in all their stores.

Chrome OS will be it's first victim, followed by Apple's iOS... OS X and Microsoft's Windows 8 virtualized like Chrome OS and running off Dell's cloud. Amazon thinks running it's thin client OS will disrupt the Enterprise World Market running off it's own Cloud. But.... they don't have Wyse Thin Client in an App Technology like Michael Dell does either!!! ;-P

http://pocketcloudsupport.wyse.com/entries/22903061-Does-PocketCloud-works-with-Windows-8-

This writer seems to have equated these Dell Ophelia Thin Client devices (that can be carried about easier than any laptop or PC for enterprise users) are mere toys or another of 1000's of Apps available on all these stores and markets. But.... in reality it comes with ARM's trust zone security built into each ARM chip. That can basically block outside access by running all computation through a private secure hypertunneled network VPN!!! :DDD ......it's like Blackberry's BES and Samsung's Knot on Steroids... all rolled into a Secure Private Network of Enterprise or Government Thin Clients. That are capable of running Windows 8 and even Apple's OS X on any monitor or TV with an HDMI port! ...not to mention Wyse App on every ARM powered mobile device being sold today!

http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/hyperspacer-announces-hypertunneltm-product-line-58964602.html

And as if that wasn't enough..... Dell is busy designing virtual keyboards and mice to go in an "all in one" package, that can fit in your pocket. Rumors are that one of his concepts will bring holographic keyboards/mice/touchpads with gesture based interactive use, like Microsoft's Kinect... only better. Which Apple just bought that company, that was behind Kinect's gesture recognition. But..... no doubt Apple was too late in buying them off the market and bought the wrong company, like they did Authentec for fingerprints. Synaptic bought Validity Cheap and they have far better technology that won't be hacked in a couple of days. But.. yeah good old Michael Dell found another company with even greater accuracy to make it possible to type on a projected or thin printed plastic passive sheet keyboard. That you can simply roll up and stuff in your pocket or the tiny combo camera projector along with your thumb drive sized Dell Android Stick!

This latest idea even beats Leap by a long shot!!! .....next step? Holographic Peripherals projected off the screen of your smartphone, or tablet PC. They are becoming a reality and you could take these devices in your pocket along with your Dell Android Stick! .....but no doubt we'll be seeing similar all in one stick devices from HP and others as well but they won't be running Wyse over a Secure Hypertunneled Network either!

Re: hope this pushes Android to improve it's existing pressure support

Say what? We're not talking touch sensitivity, we're talking varied pressure sensitivity. Like an S-Pen on SAMSUNG's devices. But any system meant to interpret finger pressure is of limited value, since it would need a on screen meter to let you know how much pressure you were applying. Had a few beers too many and got in a fight without that, and you'll end up breaking your phone screen, because of your anger otherwise.

They'll be lucky to get two or three pressure levels, when a stylus can have 1000's with direct feedback. Instead on one of these devices you'll be repeatedly trying to press to get what you're after and a huge downside will be competitors all publicly joking that, "You're Pressing that iPhone the Wrong Way"!

BTW.... As to a curved screen? Come on, Samsung has already demonstrated one first!

Plus I still have an old Kyocera Smartphone with the Frown (curved down screen) viewed from top or bottom!

But what is really hard to get across to people, is the fact that Apple will not be using their own technology. Instead they'll buy parts customized so they can say they invented first and I don't think Apple's arrogance and ignorance of Reality rather than it's own REALITY DISTORTION FIELD... died when Steve did!

Re: Why Buy

And then HACKED in minutes by a 7yr old using Play Dough to spoof people's prints or chewing gum. That's how advanced Apple's lame stupid purchase was in beating Samsung out the door by merely buying the company out from under them, Motorola and HP. Who'd been using Authentec since 2005!

Samsung already had a patent submitted for Authentec Sensor in Galaxy S3's HOME button a year before Apple bought them and then killed support to all their prior customers. That's how Apple like to compete..... copy, steal or thief all their ideas off the competition, that they lost in court on accusing them of copying and stealing from them as they've been doing all along!

Re: Android is becoming Google Phone

"Ars Technica by Ron Amadeo" is the biggest back door funded confirmed closet Appleholic on the planet. Meaning he goes all out on every freaking story about Samsung, making out like as if they are the worse device maker on the planet. He totally hates them worse than he does anything else on earth and goes into fits of rage on just the mention of their name. It's like he's been personally attacked he's such a nut case on hating Samsung at all cost. If you go by anything this iDiot Moron has to say, you know it's been approved by the Applewellian Thought Police and their Appleholic Inner Party Members in Society!

Normally also died in the flesh, self confessed fascist tin foil hat'd Haters and some sleeper cell Apple addicts, who know no other language than trash talking anti-Samsung retarded infantile gibberish from the Dark Side. Which is always centered on how badly Samsung is killing Apple's iPhone market. Now by a ratio of nearly 3 to 1! .......and with Samsung's last 88.7 Million Smarterphone sales this last quarter, they crushed Apple so bad that he was getting back door funded to totally unleash as much misinformation and hatred as he possibly could. Yet..... the loser had little to no affect on Samsung's Record Breaking Sales even beating Apple here in America, while also again winning in the largest fastest growing markets by huge margins!

Take that all you closet Appleholic losers!

This whole story is a big fat joke out of some of the Register's finest Hate Mongerers. Out to do their part in attempting to sow seeds of doubt in Google Android as well as Samsung's Dominance in selling it's devices in selling the biggest part of the Android Dominated Smartphone Market now at 80% to Apple's 13% and if that's where YOU want to buy.... then YOU are the only one that's been fooled by Ron Amadeo's bull pucky crock of iPoo Poo on Android! Samsung Wins by losing you anyway!!!

Apple's new iPhones dope-slap Samsung in US

Kroneous

Re: 5S and 5C impressive for different reasons

Actually this whole story about Apple and their fingerprint sensor is full of FUD, hyperbole and blatant theft from Samsung. The truth is Samsung had applied for using this very same Authentec sensor in the Galaxy S3. Because Samsung was already using Authentec sensors in notebooks since 2005 and had even planned to put them in it's first Origami UMPC ("Ultra Mobile PC" 2007 tablet PC) well before iPad even. Their Patent Application was in 2011, a year before Apple's. It was for one in the Home Button and the proof was just discovered this year. When a coded image was found in the Galaxy S3's firmware. People want to deny this... because they also put several other locations in this patent.

http://www.biometricupdate.com/201305/rumors-point-to-an-embedded-fingerprint-sensor-for-galaxy-devices

But our Appleholic USPTO ignored it and it didn't get approved till after the image was discovered and made public, just this year. Meanwhile, Samsung since they had been running this very same sensor technology in Notebooks was having the same problems Apple is having now.... chip yields. They had also found out how weak and hackable the security in this technology was. So it didn't make it into Galaxy S3.

Apple in the meantime, had been trying to buy Authentec out from under Samsung. After they had found out from a patent search that Samsung was going to possibly use Authentec's sensor in the Galaxy S3, while discovering their Patent. Which is why they only applied for a patent for a hand print scan under the screen a year after Samsung's application. They had no sensor for one in the Home Button, until just recently modified to fix this failure. So Apple actually ended up way over paying for Authentec's now failed technology, hacked by fake prints.

Yet Apple had gone after the very same company that their biggest competitor had been using for then 7yrs. Was this anti-competitive? What they got though.... was a bio-metric technology doomed to fail. Because it only scans the surface layer. Unlike Validity's technology that uses Deep Tissue scanning to prevent the HACK that your 5s is susceptible to. Meanwhile Samsung scrambled to find a replacement sensor for GS4 and to fix that problem, that Apple apparently couldn't.

After Apple bought Authentec out from under them and had Authentec discontinue support for former customers like Samsung, only then did they file for a patent that got approved immediately.... naturally by a now totally consumed Appleholic USPTO like you and the Register's writer here. Anti-competitive? You better believe it!

http://www.biometricupdate.com/201305/uspto-grants-samsung-patent-for-embedded-fingerprint-sensor

So how do you think Samsung found out about Authentec's failure on small devices? Easy.... they are partners with Motorola. Who had an Authentec sensor in the Atrix two years ago. This is why Moto was dissing and laughing at Apple. Because they already knew Authentec's fingerprint sensor technology was doomed to be hacked even by kids on YouTube videos!!! lol....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJpu9PP3U1w

But every other phone maker now has opted for Validity's far superior technology and algorithms. While Authentec had been sitting on technology that had already been set up to fail back in 2002. When a hacker had published a how to hack their fingerprint sensor way back then. Can Apple somehow save Authentec? Well hey'll try for sure, but meanwhile you have an iPhone 5s that can be hacked by novices and children! ...Enjoy It while it lasts, but don't use it to buy stuff for sure!!!

http://www.validityinc.com/

So both Motorola and it's fellow Android partner... Samsung are snickering and laughing about Apple's misfortune in paying so much for technology doomed to fail! :DDD

btw... Samsung has just broke their own smartphone sales record this last Quarter, by selling between 85 and 89 Million Smartphones in September Quarter. Putting them on target to sell well over 300 Million Smarterphones this year! ;-P .....and that compared to Apple only headed for a measly by comparison 150 million iPhone w/ sensors conned by kids, monkeys, cats and dogs prints!
