Have to agree; I'm a Windows guy but my daughter wanted an M2 Macbook when she started Uni last year. My persistent offer to get her a Dell for half the price buttered no parsnips. I'll admit, it's a beautiful bit of kit and barely gets warm, as you say

HP Ink to compensate punters for bricking third-party ink cartridges

Paul Westerman

Re: Motherf***ers. I strongly doubt this is the only HP that has done this.

I use Instant Ink too, I print even less than you so I only pay £1.99 a month, kid's homework etc. taken care of and if we get through 2 carts a year we're quids in. No more running out of ink at annoying moments. They even give you an postage-paid envelope to recycle the old ones.

Totally agree, if you travel by air or train, or work in a noisy environment the QCs are the best by a country mile. And if you don't like Bluetooth buy the QC25s, they have a cord, don't need an app and run for ages off a AAA cell.

Mac Pro update: Apple promises another pricey thing it will no doubt abandon after a year

Paul Westerman
Unhappy

Shame though

At least Apple are trying to bring a bit of design to the PC - I really liked the 'bin' design, and the 'lamp' and especially the G4 Cube. Unfortunately the designs hobbled the functionality. But even their tower designs are beautiful - did you see the EEVblog teardown of the Power Mac G5? (goo.gl/RssygC). Lovely things. Wouldn't ever buy one though!

Re: They forget one small detail...

My brother lives in NZ (we're Brits) and he has one steer at a time on his small plot. He hires a guy who turns up in a Land Rover, drives across the field and shoots the animal when it's looking the other way. He says the same thing, if the animal is stressed it spoils the meat. Then he takes it away and comes back a few days later with joints, mince, burgers, steaks, whatever you want, all ready to go in the freezer. My bro says it's the best meat he's ever tasted.
