Winamp? Naaahhh!
Sonique v1.96 FTW! Hangs occasionally, but still mostly works, even on W7.
Not bad for a program that'll be 10 years old next March!
(Even works on Linux with WINE.)

I'd hazard a guess that Her Maj is a bit more technically clued-up than you'd think.
Maybe not to the level of most of us reading tech news sites like this, but I'm sure she'll at least know how to switch on a PC and do a bit of casual web browsing in between her royal duties. Probably won't stretch to downloading torrents though!
This "product" will not be called "iTV".
The UK's biggest commercial TV broadcaster (est. 1955) won't allow it.
Which ISP, may I ask, are you with?
You write stupid anonymous comments on forums
How pathetic.
You do know that Telefónica has been around for over 85 years don't you?
You do realise Telefónica is Spain's biggest telco don't you?
Nope, obviously you didn't ... on both counts.
The 1996 original design of the Ford Ka still looks like a heap of hideous fugly junk! Even about 2-3 years after it's been replaced with a better looking design, there are still way to many of the grotesquely awful original Ford Ka's on UK roads.
Every one of them needs to be taken away and violently destroyed.
Anyway ... that's off-topic. The new logo for Windows 8? Meh!
. . . it's nowt to do with hearses being painted or paininted.
The .paininthearse one breaks down as "dot pain in the arse".
. . . for these particular organizations:
.scum
.morons
.screwyou
.paininthearse
.gof***yourselves (with the actual word not the asterisks)

The longer ones maybe invalid on ICANN's systems, but they all reflect what most people think of these nasty, corporate, screw the people organistaions.
One less public soapbox for that vile, despicable, poisonous slimeball surnamed Galloway. Good riddance ... for now.

Nope ... the Trade Descriptions Act is not being infringed at all.
Freeview (and Freeview HD) are only part of the complete DTT offerings. DTT stands for "Digital Terrestrial Television" btw. DTT is the platform, upon which Freeview, Freeview HD and TopUp TV stands.
While there is still enough bandwidth available, any mixture of free and non-free services can exist on the DTT platform alongside each other.
Imagine the main theme from GTA IV (Soviet Connections) played by an orchestra, with the full range of classical instruments.
That, I think, would sound many magnitudes of awesome!
What is the point of going to all the trouble of hacking a modern games console to emulate another games console that is both ancient and totally obsolete? What a waste of time and effort.
If you really want to run N64 games ... buy an N64 from eBay!
I didn't know it was October already. I thought it was still July!
Good solid arguments there from Tidosho, someone I know personally, and who knows EXACTLY what he is talking about, versus someone who most likely has virtually no real world technical knowledge and/or experience and is obviously blinded by his own pathetic fanboi ignorance.
Try SeaMonkey instead, under the hood it's almost exactly the same as Firefox, being built upon the Gecko engine and a XUL front end but on the surface, it's immune to third party toolbars.
Forget Chrome ... Google's dumbed down excuse of a browser!
(In simple terms so the PS3 fanbois can understand.)

That's that then. We're all completely buggered.
I'll get me coat. Not much point staying in this country any more.

Or at least we would be completely buggered and totally fubar'd with another five years of Gordon Brown and Lord Slimeball at the helm.
As for what posh bloke Dave and his new but (not so posh) LibDem chums ultimately plan to go about doing what needs to be done ... remains to be seem. Fun times lie ahead I'm sure!
Some kudos though to Gordon Brown, for stepping down as the not democratically elected (now ex) PM with some level of dignity, not dragged out of No.10 kicking and screaming as some newspapers would've you believe might happen, and probably wanted to see.
It isn't only on Firefox ... I was getting this on SeaMonkey last week.

I'm still waiting for some to qualitatively (or quantitatively) define the difference between downloading a TV series, from torrent and keeping it on your PC as compared to simply hitting SeriesLink on your Sky+ and automatically recording each episode that you can then keep forever. Or putting a blank DVD in a recorder and making a perfect digital copy. Or even a videotape for f**ks sake!
UNQUOTE
Download any TV shows from torrents on to your PC, and you have pretty much full control over how long you can keep the files, regardless of the legality of doing so, at least until your hard drive is full or crashes.
Meanwhile, with recording TV shows on a Sky+ box, since Sky still have some level of control over their proprietary PVR system, what's to stop them suddenly moving the goalposts? With one over the air software update downloaded to your Sky+ box in the background or overnight, suddenly your Sky+ recordings can only be kept for a specific amount of time, say up to 30 days, or maybe less, before they're automatically deleted. They could even impose another restriction that prevents you from copying those recordings from your Sky+ to another device, be it a computer, a DVD recorder, or an old skool VCR.
There's a chance that all Sky+ boxes already have these restrictions built in, but not enabled by default. It'd only take one push of a button by someone at BSkyB HQ to enable these "features" . . .
It'd most certainly stir up a shitload of controversy, but I wouldn't put it past Murdoch's Money Vultures to pull a stunt like this.
Paris ... only because she enjoys being screwed!
As Steve72 said, you've clearly never used SeaMonkey. Although it's the same TYPE of
product as the old Netscape Communicator, an internet application suite, it uses the
same codebase as current or recent products from Mozilla, rather than the creaky
old Netscape 4.x codebase from the days of internet yore.
So instead of unnecessary criticisms, maybe you should actually try it first.
http://seamonkey-project.org/
The only physical similarity between the current stable SeaMonkey releases (v1.1.8)
which you'll notice straightaway is the default "Classic" theme, which uses the old
style Netscape 4.x buttons, but in a layout more like the main toolbar in Firefox.
SeaMonkey 2 has finally got rid of the old Netscape look for a new default theme.
. . . not an official Mozilla product alongside Firefox, as this article appears to suggest.
The Mozilla Foundation scrapped official development of the Mozilla App-Suite a few
years ago to concentrate their efforts on Firefox. Development of the App-Suite was
continued by a small band of volunteers, The SeaMonkey Council.
SeaMonkey is a project officially supported by The Mozilla Foundation with regards to
technical resources such as webservers and bandwidth, and various legal aspects
such as trademarks protection for the SeaMonkey name, logo and artwork.
Seamonkey was originally the development codename for the early prototype, alpha
and beta builds of the Mozilla Suite used as the basis for Netscape 6.x in much the
same way Mozilla was a development codename for early Netscape browsers.
EDIT: By the way, why is the spacing between the lines on my message all wrong?
Why is their a gap after every single line, rather than only after each paragraph,
and why do the gaps reappear after each attempt to correct the spacing?
The message comment software installed on this site needs this major bug fixed!
The solution ... an extension called Oldbar . . .
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/6227/
. . . fresh steaming male bovine excrement. (In layman's terms, bullshit!)
Paris ... because she'd know exactly what to do with a sonic screwdriver!
As comment title.
It's completely unusable. It doesn't even start up, but bombs out with a Visual C++ error!
I know it's a beta app, but even so, I'd expect something that actually runs. I'd have also
expected something a lot more stable from Mozilla, than this piece of useless junk.
Thankfully, they've retained the option to download standard WMV files,
within the "More Downloads" dropdown. Pity the hi-def downloads are
only available with the MP4 files that require too much pi**ing about!
QUOTE:
Why can't we have to a single standard aspect ratio? Ideally 4:3.
Almost everything is transmitted 4:3 and it's a *good* ratio. You can view both tall
objects and wide objects without them looking too small. But nowadays it's
almost impossible to buy a decent size TV in 4:3 and you have to get 16:9
which makes European people look as fat as Americans ... etc ....
UNQUOTE
Someone needs to stop living in the past methinks. It's 2009 now, and most TV shows
are made in 16:9 widescreen format. 16:9 is the standard TV aspect ratio now, while
the old style 4:3 aspect ratio is becoming increasingly obsolete.
£350-400 for iPhone 3G on pre-pay = total RIP OFF ... F*** that!
. . . other Mozilla based apps possibly being affected, such as SeaMonkey?
The pricing for Mac OS X Tiger you stated is totally wrong.
In the UK, it was priced at £89, and in the US it was $129.
QUOTE . . . the BBC demands you watch the ident before the programme . . . UNQUOTE
Not true ... play the files you've downloaded from the BBC iPlayer, directly in WMP, and the program will start playing immediately you don't get to see the BBC ident.

Sorry, but this browser does not support web presentations.
We recommend you try Google Docs on:
* Mozilla Firefox: 1.5.0.12 or higher
* Mozilla SeaMonkey: 1.0 or higher
* Internet Explorer: 6.0 or higher
All of these are FREE and easy to download and use.
