Nope, that's abiogenesis.

Wrong. Even pure water will conduct electricity. H20 ionises to H+ OH-. At any given time a small fraction of water will exist in the ionised form, allowing it to conduct electricity. Furthermore, more water will ionise in the presence of an electric current.
I'm with you on that, although I have the opposite problem. I've got fairly slender wrists for an adult male, and always have to remove links from straps to get them to fit. I never buy leather or fabric straps as they invariably don't have enough holes to go narrow enough to fit me.
I'm with you on the google glasses, you're spot on about the laser eye surgery. Did wonder how they'd work for people who already wear glasses though.
I think the smart watch might be a bit more of a viable idea, but I'd hang off until battery life is a bit longer.
Can I join you for that beer?
Printers are bad enough but the prize for the worst IT product I've ever had the misfortune to own goes to the Belkin Wireless G All-In-One Print Server F1UP0002UK. Couldn't get it to work reliably via wireless so had to keep it connected to my router. The software that came with it was windows only so had to use bootcamp to print from my mac. No 64bit drivers, although managed to find a compatible driver elsewhere. Propriety software that basically took ownership of the printer then released it after an idle time only if you checked a setting in the preferences that always unchecked itself on my wife's laptop. If she shut down her laptop without disconnecting, you'd have to reboot the device to release it, otherwise no-one could print at all. I'd punt it on ebay, but I don't think I'd sleep at night!
"I'm sure someone will take Comfort in that comment. :)"
Maybe that someone is this guy: Ray Comfort AKA Banana man.
D'oh icon because, well, watch the video and you'll see why.

OK, free starter Chinese lesson:
In my post I'd written 好极了! (pronounced hao ji le) meaning 'very good'.
Wheaty73 replied 谢谢你!(pronounced xie xie ni) which you correctly identified as 'thank you'.
I've replied with the traditional response, 不客气 (pronounced bu ke qi) roughly translates as 'no need to be polite'.
You'll be fluent in no time!
I think that mongo was actually referring to the incorrect usage of the apostrophe in the word its changing its meaning from possessive form of it (the intended meaning) to 'it is' or 'it has' (the usage of an apostrophe to show possession is incorrect for personal pronouns). For a fuller explanation see: http://www.eng-lang.co.uk/apostrophe_rules.htm. Personally I think that's a bit pedantic even for this site!
Advertisers must think that we're stupid. I can tell that my behaviour is being tracked because I'm being shown ads for stuff that I've recently bought online. What makes the ad men think that 'personalised' ads for stuff I already own and therefore have zero interest in buying is going to work? Manufacturers should stop wasting money on these clowns, there must be a better way!
I've said it before and I'll say it again; There's nothing wrong with putting an egg or black pudding on a sandwich with bacon, but once you do they are no longer bacon sandwiches, they are bacon and egg / black pudding sandwiches. All of the entries with other ingredients should be disqualified.
I don't see the attraction with these places. Cheep supermarket burgers taste better than McDonalds. If I didn't have kids I'd never go anywhere near these place. Where do they get that awful cheese? It tastes like it's made from melted down carrier bags.
I did once have a really nice KFC though, in Beihai park in Beijing which is no longer there. They had altered their menu to suit Chinese tastes though.
I uninstalled Norton Antivirus after finding that after a fresh windows install, installing Norton doubled the boot up time of the machine that I had installed it on. Switched to MacAfee which was better at the time but has gone the same way.
One further thought; would I want to by security related software from a company that couldn't keep their own systems secure?
"For a bunch of people who do not even have a basis for good or bad, right or wrong, atheist appear to love to talk alot about how bad others are. They do not appear to realise that atheism gives one no way to determine either.
For a bunch of people that claim to 'think for themselves', atheists display a singular lack of ability in that respect."
I am an atheist. My parents are Christians. I arrived at the the conclusion that there was no God by questioning the teachings of the religion of my parents. All atheists would have religious ancestors, so at some point the've chosen to abandon religion by thinking for themselves. Unless you've converted to Islam, it's likely that your belief has been bestowed upon you by your parents, so the thinking for yourself argument hardly stands.
I am an atheist. I believe that there is no God. No God means probably no afterlife. No afterlife means you only get one shot at life. Therefore murder destroys the potential that a person had for the rest of their life. Therefore murder is bad. Not able to determine good or bad without religion - give me a break?
